Southbank Institute of Tafe - Students - 2011

In March and April I was commissioned for the second year in a row to photograph new marketing and promotion photos for the Southbank Institute of TAFE. Over a few days I was commissioned to photograph across a few different faculties. At the moment some of these images are being used in advertising for the TAFE. Look out for them around the traps.

  • I’ve always had fun on uni shoots, you meet great people doing interesting things. You have nice clean white images which I think is the standard for all uni/TAFES. Thing is though, it’s a classic and doesn’t age as well as some older university style photos have.

Apart from natural light, what other lighting do you use in your kit?

PS I also have a cat that loves to sit on my keyboard/lap when i’m editing photos. Her name is L-Series Design ;)

  • With this shoot I only used natural light in one shot. The rest I used either my Elinchrom D-Lite 4s. Or my Speedlight (580 ex).

And yeah the clean white look is their style guide so Ihad much coaching to make it cleaner and whiter with heaps of negative space.
