Brisbane Floods 2011: End of Day Three

End of Day 3 of the Brisbane floods sees me mainly hitting two areas to get a few snapshots just before the sun goes down. I start by photographing Victoria Street in Windsor again as I had received a frantic email from a current Canberra resident who has a house on this street. She had not managed to get through to the tenants and had no idea what the state of her house was. It turns out the tenants were currently overseas and had no idea their hometown was experiencing flooding. On hearing reports that her home was only hit knee height she was extremely relieved and sent out all her best wishes to the Brisbane homes that were hit harder.

After documenting Victoria Street, I headed over for the first time to photograph Milton Road. Reports from the news and twitter is that this area was hit very hard with high flood waters.

You can see by the marks on the walls how high the water rose in this area.

I will be going out today to try and document the start of the clean up process.

Great photos, gives a real perspective. You have shown alot of areas in need that are not being shown on TV.
Thank you
